“They kept the house and yard clean during the work and they cleaned up after themselves at the end. They protected the floor and other areas while they were working. They did a great job matching the existing drywall texture and reproducing the original window trim. They also paid attention to waterproofing details to keep the dry rot from reoccurring. They accommodated my tight schedule, and they were responsive to my suggestions and concerns while they were working. Their bid was competitive and they had a very "can-do" attitude. “When we purchased our home in Kensington, we knew we needed some remodeling work but we didn't realize how big the job would be. We were very happy that we chose Berkeley Craftsmen. Mark and Mike, the two owners, treated the job as if it was their house and worked with us very carefully on the design. The emphasis was always on doing the job right. Whenever a new surprise came up, they carefully redesigned the project to fit our needs. We wanted to write and thank you for the terrific job you did building our addition.  We are so happy with the final results.
 
We are particularly happy that your estimates of time and cost were so accurate.  Despite the delays resulting from working through such an incredibly wet winter, you managed to finish construction within a month of your estimate.  And you kept within budget, despite our insistence on certified lumber and other “green” building products that were more expensive than conventional materials.  We don’t know how you did that, but we’re grateful you did.
 
The quality of your work is exceptional.  In particular, the stained concrete floor is everything we hoped for, and Jacob’s attention to detail and the hours of experimenting produced great results.  Ceara and Jacob offered so many helpful suggestions and gave us ideas we wouldn’t have had otherwise.  Our zero–VOC paints and finishes, marmoleum floors, and storage cubbies are examples of their great ideas.
 
Probably the aspect of this project that we appreciated most was everyone’s great communication, attitude and the respect you all showed our family.  You supported our goal of having an environmentally–sustainable home, and you worked hard to minimize disturbances in our living areas.  Thanks to the crew for being so friendly to Anna, who still asks for “the men.”  It made a big difference to enjoy the folks who were in and around our living space and be able to negotiate about things like Friday naptime.  Overall, it was a pleasure interacting with every member of your staff.
