Retro Remodel

The clients wanted a 1950's kitchen but with more space and contemporary functionality. We opened up the entry and replaced lower cabinets with deeper custom cabinets, including one that hides a dishwasher. Diagonally set tile counter with a black tile stripe, scalloped cabinet border highlighted by undercounter lighting, period hardware, and a Wedgewood stove complete the look.

"We love the kitchen; it's exactly what we wanted. I was really afraid it wouldn't be this great." —Jill Cornwall, West Berkeley Owner, quoted in Tri-Valley Herald, April 17, 2004
